Andrew Holstine, a partner at SFNR, focusing on estate and gift tax planning, legacy planning, estate and trust administration, business transactional work and succession planning. Andy presented for the McHenry County Bar Association on charitable planning, made numerous presentations on estate planning for estate planning seminars organized by financial planning and insurance firms, senior care homes and on tax and estate planning for ag landowners.  He is a past president and current board member for The Chicago Farmers and serves as general counsel for two foundations that promote improved medical, educational and charitable concerns in Vietnam.  Andy taught an MBA course in International Contract Law as a visiting professor for a graduate school in Hanoi, Vietnam.  Andy also spent 5 years as a board member for the Northeast Illinois Special Recreation Association and worked with staff on special needs planning workshops and consulting on fundraising matters.

Andy has been representing families and business owners for over 15 years.  Andy practices in the areas of estate and tax planning, asset protection planning, business succession planning, corporate transactions, real estate and probate and trust administration.  Andy has experience in the administration of trust and estates including gift and estate tax return preparation, drafting pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, decanting trusts, family settlement agreements, generation-skipping planning, tax planning for non-citizens including qualified domestic trusts, irrevocable trusts, grantor trusts and special needs planning.  Andy has worked with families on multi-generational planning, advising owners of closely-held businesses, counseling professionals and families who are accumulating assets and individuals seeking to protect their wealth and their descendants from tax and creditor issues.
