James D. Voigt


James Voigt joined SFNR as a partner in 2017 focusing on serving a wide array of small business needs as clients launch, grow, and eventually exit their businesses.  Jim served on the Board of Directors of the Corporate Law Association at the John Marshall Law School, where he created and organized the first annual Francis J. Morrissey Corporate Ethics Awards.  Jim volunteers to help low-income individuals and families with legal needs through Administer Justice and his local church.  He co-chairs the PNG Fox Valley Networking Group.


Jim focuses particularly on helping clients both large and small prepare their businesses for sale and walks through the sales process with them every step of the way.  He also assists clients with general contract negotiation needs, company formation, commercial lease negotiation, and provides guidance to clients involved in shareholder or other ownership disputes prior to litigation.  He also assists clients with annual state filing and records requirements through a unique client-focused annual reporting system that makes the process convenient and easy for clients.
